Today more than 300,000 children around the world are acting as child soldiers. As promoters of peace, Caritas Australia is working around the globe, providing counselling and life skills training to communities torn apart by brutal conflict – and giving former child soldiers a chance at a brighter future.

850 million people live on less than $1 a day and the world is experiencing a serious food crisis. Caritas Australia is working within communities to increase poor farmers’ production.

Today, 1.1 billion people around the world are living without safe drinking water. Caritas Australia works with communities across the planet to provide access to clean water and improved hygiene and sanitation. |
Today, 72 million primary school aged children do not have access to an education – more than 60% are young girls. Caritas recognises that education is one of the most effective tools for tackling poverty and inequality and is working to provide access to education for the most vulnerable. | Many communities are not able to withstand the impact of
natural disaster. Through our work we provide emergency relief in the initial stages of the disaster, as well as continued support to affected communities as they rebuild and rehabilitate towards a sustainable future. |
*Proceeds from Global Gift purchases will be contributed to Caritas Australia's general donations fund, thereby supporting all of the above aspects of our work.
