Flash animation — Follow the travels
of a group of 50 young Australians who travelled down the
middle of the country with the World Youth Day Cross
and Icon as pilgrims. The journey went Darwin to Adelaide,
visiting big communities and small. The experiences
of the journey caused the pilgrims to reflect on social
justice issues in Australia and how their faith calls them to act for
justice. See an interactive Flash
animation (5Mb) which follows the stories of four young
pilgrims. You will need the latest Adobe Flash Player installed to see
the animation. Install it for free

Pope John Paul II

Pope Paul VI’s encyclical Populorum Progressio – On
the Development of Peoples was an extraordinary document for its
time and is just as relevant today as it was in 1967 when it was first
published. The overarching message of Populorum Progressio is that we
all have a role to play in empowering people to help themselves break
free from poverty and be “architects of their own progress.”
However, this can only happen if we act justly and “play
fairly”. Take an online visual jouney through 10 key messages from
Populorum
Progressio.
