This is Ida Farida also from Pucok Leung village. She lives in her new home with her husband.

Ida Farida works sewing and mending clothes for local people, “sometimes I get a big order, which is good. The work is up and down but I always have some work to do. My husband is working in a sawmill in Aceh Jaya, about 60 miles away. He stays there for one month and then comes back for a few days before returning”.

Ida Farida says that “the tsunami washed our home right away”, and they were left with no where to live. “I am very happy with the new house, after the tsunami I have no chance to build something like this”.

“I would like to say thank you so much to the people of Australia who gave money so that we could have a new house. I am very happy with our new house, beyond my dreams.”
