Caring for people with HIV/AIDS
The Catholic Church network is one of the biggest care providers for those who have HIV and AIDS around the world. As part of the Catholic network, Caritas Australia has made tackling HIV/AIDS a proirity area in its aid and development work. Watch the video to learn more.
Our three–phased approach
Caritas Australia takes a three-phased approach to the HIV/AIDS programs it supports.
Firstly, we aim to offer those suffering from HIV/AIDS a dignified life through providing health, counseling, nutrition and training. Secondly we support those who are impacted, such as children and grandparents, because people in their family, often the breadwinners, have AIDS and cannot work or have passed away. Thirdly, we educate the public about the impacts of HIV and how not to contract the virus.
