Niger has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world. More than 140,000 children die each year from causes related to poverty and malnutrition.
Caritas is helping 400,000 people over the coming months in Niger after drought has led to shortages of food across the country. Caritas will provide free food to families with children, subsidised food to other families. Update from Caritas Internationalis.
