Fundraising poster: 'Two new kids'
Download the‘Two New Kids’ Fundraising Poster (156Kb PDF). Part of the Caritas Australia-supported Sustainable Agriculture Program
in Uganda (featured in Week 1) is an animal ‘bank’ of goats, cows and pigs. Before receiving
an animal through the program, farmer groups first learn to grow suitable
food, how to care for the animal, and how to build safe shelter.
Farmers are then ‘loaned’ a goat, which is ‘repaid’ with the goat’s first
offspring, which is then ‘loaned’ to another farmer in the group.
Approximately $800 could enable a group of 20 subsistence farmer
families in Uganda to receive 2 goats to breed and share, as well as
seeds and training to grow their food and skills in
constructing a shelter and caring for the animals.
That means you will need to raise $200 for each jigsaw
part! Cut out the four sections and paste them onto the
template as the money is raised. You can also use the 'Cowitas poster' (128Kb PDF) for your fundraising activities - an old favourite! |
