Caritas Youth's Winning Edge
12 Dec 2019 | Blog
At Caritas, we celebrate the contribution of all our youth, working for justice as the future of a world without poverty.
Meet Bella, a student at Santa Sabina College, who has just won a national short film competition run by Caritas Australia. Bella is a role-model to other students and we commend her on her wonderful work. She creatively crafted the Caritas vision with a youthful focus in her winning short film.
With the theme of ‘caring for our common home’ Bella’s film highlights the international work of Caritas, especially in helping communities in need to become sustainable. Bella’s untitled three-minute film teaches primary school-aged audiences how to grow food and collect clean water.
Chris Nolan, Justice Educator NSW/ACT at Caritas Australia, visited Santa Sabina College in early December to meet Bella and present her with her certificate and a $500 gift card.
‘The quality of Bella’s film really stood out’, he said.
‘The way she spoke [in her narration], the clear sound quality and the respect shown for the work of Caritas wowed the judges’.
