Catholic Social Teaching at Marion Primary School

It was a brilliant day at Marion Primary school in Horsley Park running a Just Leadership Day with the Year 5’s. The theme of the day was Catholic Social Teachings (CST’s) and students learned to apply the CST principles to current global events and within their own school community.

The students of Marion Primary then used their knowledge of the CST’s put their faith into action by generating a justice action plan for their school, supporting vulnerable individuals and communities living in marginalised situations.

Risk and Dare (RAD) Youth Festival with the Sisters of St Joseph

Caritas Education NSW/ACT were fortunate enough to be invited to and participate in the RAD Youth Festival held at Christian Brothers Lewisham on the 21st and 22nd of September. The two day festival was held and organised by the Sisters of St Joseph and brought together over a hundred Catholic secondary school students from Hobart, Brisbane, Regional NSW and Sydney.

Sisters of St Joseph RAD FestivalIt was a phenomenal opportunity to witness and engage with young social justice leaders of the Australian community and MP’s from NSW electorates including NSW Greens MP Jenny Leong.
