The beginning of something new

Last month, St Catherine of Siena School in Prestons welcomed new kindergarten parents to the school community. The welcome they received inspired the new parents to contribute to others by holding a fun pancake stall on Shrove Tuesday.
On 10 February, Jane Scott (Family Educator) and Year 1 families welcomed the parents of the new kindergarten class of St Catherine of Siena with a special morning tea. It was a wonderful opportunity for the new parents to meet other parents of the school community.
The morning tea evoked a sense of enthusiasm among the new kindergarten parents, and they were keen to organise another event where they could gather and work together.
So the following Tuesday, being Shrove Tuesday, the kindergarten parents organised a Pancake Stall. Parents rallied around, donated mixes, syrup and butter, and then gathered to cook the pancakes for the students of the school.
A gold coin from each student was donated to support Project Compassion. It was a fabulous response of community almsgiving - all organised by the new kindergarten parents of the St Catherine school community!
Thanks to all the parents, staff and students at St Catherine of Siena school for your generous support of Project Compassion!
