There are only a few more days until our Nepal trekkers return home from their journey and we want to say congratulations to the team for completing the Annapurna circuit!
Over the last few days, the team trekked to Pothana, Phedi and Pokhara, tackling some intense hills and seeing some incredible views of the stunning Machhapuchhre mountain.
Our trekkers are now spending some time in Kavre, just outside of Kathmandu, visiting the Nepal Earthquake recovery program. The program helps people affected by the devastating quake recover and rebuild their lives, and work towards strengthening the resilience of these communities.
Trekker and Caritas Diocesan Director, Kerry Stone, has kept us updated on the trek and said there have been constant reminders of the importance of solidarity on the adventure.
“We are also reminded frequently what a privileged life we lead. The tough life of these beautiful, hospitable people who eke out a living in this challenging environment as we admire their well-tended little veggie gardens and pass them and their mules going up and down (the trek), doing their daily tasks, sometimes carrying massive loads.”
Once again, we say congratulations to the team and wish them well on their travels back home.
