Our Justice Educators share and teach the work of Caritas and social justice each term to schools in their regions.

Year 10 Just Leadership Retreat at St Brigid's College, Lesmurdie
During refugee week, 119 students from St Brigid’s College were challenged to consider global issues such as refugees and asylum seekers. Through a see, judge and act process, students used critical thinking and discussed how they can work to ‘end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity’. Whilst the global issue of refugees and issues affecting refugees were the main focus of the day, climate change was also highlighted. Hearts and minds were certainly transformed! It was great to be there.
Social Justice Day at Corpus Christi, Bateman
Over two days and with a variety of agencies invited, Caritas presented a Tippy Tap workshop that highlighted the water and sanitation system in Malawi. Students were given an opportunity to create their own tippy tap system. As they viewed the tippy tap film and saw how the community celebrated the building of their own tippy tap using their own resources, they soon realised how Caritas works to empower and walk in solidarity with communities all around the world.
Veritas Festival 2018
This year, the Veritas Festival was held at Corpus Christi College, Bateman. It was a fantastic event organised by Catholic Youth Ministry and supported by Corpus Christi College. During the event, young people attending the three-day weekend conference considered and discussed some of the challenges faced by the Church overall. Caritas presented at the Expo and were also involved in leading the panel discussions on the Sunday.
