Caritas Australia and its partners are carrying out health promotion activities in 130 villages and 19 health centres in four provinces in Cambodia. They are principally focused on raising health awareness, distributing hygiene products and delivering WASH programs.

When Vannak left school at 15 to support his family he felt a sense of hopelessness and knew that he could end up in a youth gang. The Youth Empowerment Project, run by Caritas Australia’s partner, Youth for Peace, gave Vannak a whole new sense of direction.

Monsoon rains and typhoons have inundated large areas of Asia, particularly in the Philippines, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Thousands of people have fled their homes; others are living on roofs. Caritas teams are distributing aid and helping families recover when their homes are damaged and their crops swept away.
