Portraits of Success

Three years ago, professional photographer Margherita Gregory saw a way to help Caritas. Her idea was to donate money from family portraits to Caritas Australia. At the time, she set the ambitious goal of raising $10,000.
In November 2012 she achieved this goal, raising a total of $10,500 through her family portraits.
Margherita got the idea to help Caritas after seeing her daughter Jasmin put her lunch box money in the school’s Project Compassion box each Lent.
Margherita was familiar with Caritas, and respected the remarkable work of the organisation, so using her Brisbane based family portrait studio, Kiss Photography, to raise funds for Caritas just felt right to her.
She came up with the idea of offering families a special portrait package, which included a family portrait sitting and one of her fine art prints, with all proceeds being donated to Caritas Australia.
Margherita says that family portraits are often overlooked until it’s too late. “Before you know it the kids are all grown up and they’re leaving home!” But in this instance, families jumped to take advantage of the opportunity. The portrait pack proved to be popular, and steady progress was made towards her $10,000 goal.
In November 2012 Margherita achieved the project’s goal, having raised an impressive $10,500 for Caritas Australia.
Great news - it's launching again!
After the project’s success, Margherita has decided it would be great to continue on; and so the new project has launched again in 2013. This time she’s aiming to raise a further $8,000 with her popular family portraiture packages.
