Building disaster resilience in Papua New Guinea

In 2015 and 2016, El Nino caused widespread drought and frost across Papua New Guinea.
An estimated 2.4 million were people affected, with approximately 480,000 of those impacted by severe food shortages.

Some of the communities affected, with the support of Caritas, have been working hard to build resilience to these types of disasters through agriculture and sustainable livelihoods training as part of the Caritas El Nino Response program.
