29 November is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. It’s a day to recognise the immense challenges that Palestinian families continue to face, and that every person deserves safety and hope for the future.

For many families in Gaza and the West Bank, daily life has been marked by fear, uncertainty and loss. Ongoing violence, displacement, limited access to clean water, food and medical care, and the long-lasting impacts of conflict have pushed communities to breaking point. Parents struggle to provide the basics for their children. Young people who dream of education and opportunity often find both out of reach.

Yet even in the hardest circumstances, the strength and resilience of Palestinian communities shines through. Our partners are working tirelessly on the ground, providing emergency relief, psychosocial support, safe shelter, medical assistance and long-term development programs that help families rebuild their lives.

On this day, we’re reminded that solidarity is not symbolic, rather, it is a call to action. It asks us to see the humanity behind the headlines and to support efforts that protect life, uphold human dignity and nurture hope.

As we reflect, let us hold the people of Palestine in our thoughts and prayers, honour their resilience and continue to advocate for lasting peace. And let us recommit ourselves to supporting the humanitarian work that makes a meaningful difference for families who deserve the chance to live safely, rebuild, and thrive.

Together, we stand with the Palestinian people, with compassion, with courage, and with hope.
