Advent 2026 - Primary Schools

Advent is a special season in the Christian calendar. It's a time for getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. This year, Advent starts on Sunday 29 November.

This resource invites students to journey through the four weeks of Advent covering the themes of hope, peace, joy and love. The slides for each week of Advent have been divided into five components: the ritual of lighting a candle on the Advent wreath; the Gospel reading with reflection questions; a Caritas Australia story, reflection questions and ideas to take action; and a prayer.
