Peace in Gaza
"I renew my appeal to allow the entry of dignified humanitarian aid and to put an end to the hostilities, whose heartbreaking price is paid by the children, elderly, and the sick."

Pledge for Life-Saving Aid to Gaza
We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Government and the international community to act urgently to prevent a catastrophic drop in humanitarian aid to Gaza.
By September 9, changes to registration processes for international NGOs threaten to drastically reduce the already insufficient flow of food, water, and medicine into Gaza.
We are deeply concerned about the escalating starvation crisis, especially among children. The lack of food, baby formula, clean water, and essential medical supplies is already costing lives.
If aid volumes fall further, this could signal a catastrophic turning point for the protection of civilians in Gaza.
To allow further starvation to take hold in the region would also be a history shaping event, forever marking our collective humanity.
We pledge our support for Caritas Australia’s urgent call to:
-
- Ensure an immediate and unconditional permanent ceasefire and end indiscriminate attacks on civilians.
- Enable safe, unhindered, and large-scale humanitarian operations, including restoring full funding to UNRWA.
- Protect civilians and aid workers in accordance with International Humanitarian Law.
- Lift the siege on Gaza and end the 16-year blockade, allowing vital aid and resources to reach those in need.
- Secure the release of all hostages and detainees, including Israeli hostages held in Gaza and Palestinians arbitrarily detained by Israel.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza and with humanitarian organisations working tirelessly to deliver aid under impossible conditions.
We urge our leaders to act swiftly and to focus on what can be done to increase the volume of aid reaching those in need, before it is too late.
For justice, dignity, and hope.
