Caritas Australia was honoured to host the Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator the Hon Zed Seselja, in the Sydney office on Monday April 19.

The Minister visited the offices to learn about Caritas Australia’s programs in the Pacific and Asia, and spoke to staff about the Church Agencies Network Disaster Operations (CAN DO) Consortium, a group of eight faith-based agencies that work together to build the resilience of communities to disasters.

The Minister also had the opportunity to meet remotely with Cardinal Mafi, the new President of Caritas Oceania, to discuss Caritas Oceania and the global Caritas confederation priorities for Caritas Oceania.

“Caritas Australia has been a part of my life for a long time,” said Senator the Hon Zed Seselja

“What I love about Caritas is how it generates a grassroots movement in which millions of people are able to put in a few dollars, or more, and they can trust that Caritas Australia will use it for good.”
