Join the call to end human suffering in Gaza

More than 2 million people are trapped in Gaza, facing hunger, and displacement.

Over 60,000 lives have been lost - including over 18,000 children - and the entire population is in urgent need of humanitarian aid. This is not just a crisis, it is a test of our shared humanity.

At Caritas, we believe in the dignity of every person. In the face of suffering, we are called to act with compassion, courage, and hope.

“In the name of God, and in the name of this suffering people whose cries rise to the heaven more loudly each day, I beg you, I implore you, I order you, in the name of God, stop the repression!”

Saint Oscar Romero, the Patron Saint of Caritas Internationalis

during a Homily on the 23rd of March 1980, the day before his assassination.

How you can help

Sign the Pledge for Peace

Our current pledge focuses on administrative changes taking place on the 9th of September that would see aid volumes fall below a level that is already claiming innocent lives.

Our message is clear: the people of Gaza cannot eat less than they already are and need urgent food and medical aid, so our leaders must act swiftly to increase the volume of aid getting to those in need.

We are collecting signatures up until the 31st of August 2025, with the pledge being delivered to the Australian Foreign Minister’s office on Monday the 1st of September 2025.

Read a message from the Churches of Jerusalem

The Latin Patriarchs of Jerusalem have issued powerful humanitarian pleas throughout this conflict. Read their call for peace, justice, and compassion.

"As we lift our prayers for those in mourning, for the wounded, and for those who remain steadfast in the land of their forefathers, we remember the promise of Scripture: “The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down” (Psalm 145:14). May the God of mercy strengthen the afflicted, soften the hearts of those who hold power, and bring forth a peace that upholds justice, preserves human dignity, and safeguards the presence of all people in the land to which they belong."
