Ways to give to Caritas Australia

Around the world, there are almost 700 million people living in extreme poverty on less than $1.90 a day (World Bank). Extreme poverty has steadily been in decline for the past couple of decades, but major challenges including conflict, environmental changes and COVID-19 threaten to set back years of progress. The time to step up and support vulnerable communities is now.

For over 55 years, Caritas Australia has worked with the most marginalised and remote communities in Australia and overseas to confront the challenges of poverty. We see first-hand the devastating impact that these challenges can have on people living in poverty, but there is hope to recover and transform into stronger, more resilient communities.

You can support Caritas Australia’s life-changing work in a range of ways. From becoming a Caritas Neighbour, purchasing a Global Gift, to leaving a Legacy of Love, your generosity will make a real and lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable communities, globally.

However you choose to support our work, your compassion makes all the difference to some of the most disadvantaged people in the world.

Regular giving creates sustainable and lasting change

Join our community of Caritas Neighbours, who make a regular contribution to Caritas Australia to ongoing and longer-term support to vulnerable communities here in Australia and overseas.

When you make a monthly gift, you help to create a sustainable future for people living in poverty by providing long-term support. You also receive regular news monthly and a quarterly newsletter that showcases the positive impact you are having on vulnerable communities around the world.

The surety of ongoing funds helps us to prepare for the future, improve the efficacy of our programs and increase our reach so we can help even more people in need.

Global Gifts that make a global impact

We are offering a range of print and digital Global Gift cards that make a big difference to the lives of people experiencing the challenges of poverty.

A Global Gift represents a donation to Caritas Australia and the designs on the cards are produced by people and children who are supported by our local partners and development programs. Simply select from a range of cards, choose the amount you would like to donate and your loved one will receive a gift with a global impact.

Leave a Legacy of Love

Leaving a gift in your Will is an incredibly generous way to give back to people facing extreme hardship and poverty and helps to create an ongoing legacy of love for the world’s most vulnerable.

When you include Caritas Australia in your Will, you help lay the path towards a more just and fairer world where all may thrive. Every gift we receive, whatever size or form it may take, makes an enormous difference to the vulnerable communities we work with, and allows us to be there before, during and after disaster strikes.

Find out how you can let your values and commitment to tackling poverty and supporting sustainable change live on through a bequest.

Sign up for Workplace Giving

Through workplace giving, you can use your pre-tax income to make a regular contribution to Caritas Australia. Not only does this significantly reduce the administration costs involved with processing your donation, it also reduces your taxable income. It really is a win for all.

Simply ask your employer if they have a Workplace Giving form. If they do, you can nominate Caritas Australia as your chosen charity and select your donation amount. If they don’t, you can use this form. Your employer can also choose to match your donation amount to double the impact and encourage more employees to get involved.

Single donation

You may want to make a single donation to show your support for people living in poverty and those affected by humanitarian crises, conflicts or natural disasters. Whatever the reason, single donations can go a long way to help support people experiencing extreme hardships and poverty.

When you donate to Caritas Australia, you help vulnerable and marginalised communities to receive critical support through our life-changing development programs.
